Is it a show? Is it a speech? Is it a workshop? YES. 
My programs are all of these. First understand that these are one-woman shows with content woven in. The degree of content is up to you - but I'm a firm believer that you can deliver information in an entertaining way so you don't have to choose one or the other. I also write a tribute to my audience - to show them how what they do matters to the bottom line and to their communities.

 

 

This sounds different!
Yes! It is! My approach is different. Because I think your audience is ready for something different. I bring a theater experience to you - allowing you to come to my town and meet "my people" and let them teach you the truths I want to share. And I am part of the scene too - for you will get to know me and life from where I sit, along with my characters. But you're not just looking in a window like in theater, for I will break that fourth wall and bring you into the program as we discuss the issues I have brought up - as we laugh together - learn together - heal together. It makes for a really fun and powerful time that your audience will not forget. One client told me that his audience fell in love with the characters - that when they were unable to relate to me, they were able to relate to one of the characters they met that day. He said that my show got them laughing, networking, thinking in a new way, and receptive to receive the hard core training that was to follow.

 

 

Do you dress up?
No. I don't. It's distracting, and not necessary, and I don't want to have to lug around a bunch of costumes. Plus, I want to be taken seriously as a speaker. I want to be authentic, and I want you to get to know me too - and I can't do that in costume.

 

 

Do we have to have a stage? No. You don't. I can set my own stage with nothing more than a microphone. Sometimes I will use what I have available - such as a stool or a table. However, if you do have a stage and access to props, please let me know. I've had several clients that chose to decorate the stage in a certain theme - for example, a messy woman's bedroom - and it really heightened the experience. It's up to you.

SEE, BELIEVE, DO


What's the message?
EVERYTHING I talk about falls under the basic premise/theme that we all get stuck in potholes along the yellow brick road of life. Sometimes it’s about embarking on a new dream – sometimes it’s about staring in that mirror and facing up to the fact that we need a change – sometimes we’re stuck because we’re not closing sales or because we are losing customers – sometimes it's about conflict in a team - sometimes it's about our health and life balance - and sometimes it’s all about the guy.  So the first question is – where are you stuck? There is a lot of value in getting to the root of the problem.

 

The next thing I do is remind/teach them that they can get out -  that the power is in their hands. That they are not the readers of this fairy tale – they are the authors. I get them excited about having a brand new page in their lives.

 

Then I tell them that there are three ways to get out of this pothole – and all three must work in tandem (not in order) – See, Believe, Do.

 

 

See where you need to go (vision casting, knowing what you want out of the equation, writing down goals and mission statements, seeing your own path as opposed to your neighbor’s – see what success looks like in specifics).  This is customized to fit your group.

 

Believe that you can get there (replace the negative scripts in your head to feed it with positive statements so that you can get your head in the game – so that you go into a sales conversation not hoping that you will get the sale, but KNOWING that you will get the sale – learning to let go of that baggage that many of us as women have brought into the workplace that sabotage our success.)  This is customized to fit your group.

 

And DO it (learning to take action – to take big ideas and actually turn them into bite sized pieces – to ask for what we want – to come up with a plan and actually follow it – and to understand that getting what we want is not about talent but about persistence).  This is customized to fit your group.

 

Those are the three tenets of what I believe, teach, and speak about – and each one can be customized to fit the topics I have listed below. Sometimes my client will ask me to apply it to a different topic, and I'm happy to accomodate.

 

I also study the group, the core values, the mission statement, and weave that into the language of my presentation.
